Arts
A tough act to follow
The Pittsburgh art scene is extremely popular and it is constantly growing. Patrons can take in a play, musical, ballet, or opera at one of five locations in a 14-block area. There are 325 nights of performance annually by the Pittsburgh Symphony, Pittsburgh Opera, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater and other groups. The Pittsburgh Opera is one of the oldest in the U.S., and both the Pittsburgh Ballet and Symphony are nationally recognized.
Pittsburgh is also home to the Carnegie Museum of Art, which includes the Andy Warhol Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Science Center.
Pittsburgh has also become a hot spot for film production. Since 2007, nearly 30 films or TV shows have been filmed or are currently in production in the area. Some examples of films shot here include "Abduction", "Adventureland", "Dark Knight Rises", "One Shot", "The Road", "Next Three Days", and "Love and Other Drugs".
